We have asked students a few questions about what they thought about the the Junior Senior Focus
program and here are their thoughts.
Q. Was your experience with your mentor a successful one? Why or why not? Would you recommend that person to mentor again?
A. Yes, Mike seemed very enthusiastic about his job. The environment was upbeat so I was never bored. If anyone is interested in athletic training Mike is definitely awesome.
-Hilary
A. Yes, my mentor taught me a lot more than I had already known about my field. Yes, I would definitely recommend her.
-Bethany
A. It was very successful with Mike. We got along great and he was just an all around great guy. He brought me to things that I would never have thought I would get to see. I would recommend him to be a mentor again.
-Andrew
A. I would say that my experience with my mentor was successful; I got along marvelously with her. She always managed to greet me warmly with a smile every time she saw me, and I always left my meetings with her with some new form of knowledge. I found out quickly that she knew quite a lot about acting and theater, and that if I took the time to watch and listen, I could absorb that knowledge. I would recommend Cindy wholeheartedly to mentor somebody else in coming years.
-Nellie
Q. Would you recommend this program to upcoming students? Why or why not?
A. Yes, because it prepares you for your future. Not only does it help you decide on a career, but you are able to see exactly what the career is about so there are no surprises.
-Hillary
A. Absolutely, I took it two years in a row! How could I not recommend it?
-Kevin
A. Yes, for those who want to see if a certain career is right for them, but no, if they don't like to do a lot of work.
-Bethany
A. I would recommend it to anyone who knows they could handle it and knows that they will do well. It can be a difficult class but it is one of the best I've had so it would be recommended.
-Andrew
A. I'm glad that I took this course. It educated me as to what life was actually like for an actor, and what would be required of me if I pursued theater professionally. Now I can say with confidence that if I go into theater, I won't go in blind, as I would have done if I hadn't taken this course.
