It is never too early to start making a plan to finance your college education. The better your plan, the more choices you will have. Begin your research with some of the financial aid information available on the web.

The Guidance Office has information about various scholarships offered locally, statewide, and nation- wide. This scholarship information is constantly updated. Seniors are encouraged to stop by the office and check out the scholarship file. A complete list of local scholarships will be distributed to students in March 2004.

fastWEB-- Financial Aid Search Through the Web is one of the best sites on the Web to start your scholarship search. fastWEB provides free, detailed information. Step-by-step instructions are provided, making this site is easy to use. You will also be prompted to create your own private accountname with your own private mailbox. Any information you request will be sent to your fastWEB mailbox so no one will have access to your information.

MACH25 (CollegeNET) is a simple and fast way to find aid for school. Users are prompted to
create a user account which is used to search for scholarships; results of scholarships searches for which you may qualify are returned to you, and you can scroll through the information to get more details.

FinAid (National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators) this is a comprehensive site with information about all types of financial aid. In addition, you are provided with a glossary of terms to help decipher some of the confusion in the financial aid world. FinAid also provides links to other reliable financial aid sites on the Web.

ScholarAid provides information on scholarships and loans, as well as links to a site to help select the right college for you.

USA Group is a large financial services provider and the largest guarantor of student loans in the nation. You can not only get very useful information at this site, but also download forms, use their on-line calculators, and check on the status of your student loan.

Nellie Mae is the nation's largest provider of student and parent education loans. At this site you can request information or forms, learn about the basics of student loans, get help with repayment or even help in applying for an education loan. This site also provides useful information about pre-planning for college - especially useful for parents with younger students.

SallieMae (Student Loan Marketing Association) is one of the nation's largest financial services companies providing funds for education loans, account servicing for borrowers, and more. This site is very comprehensive, and even offers a set of calculators to figure cost of attendance, expected family contribution, and other college-related expenses.
